John Kimani Kirari
John Kimani Kirari is an Energy Analyst with 23 years of experience in project development and management, resource mobilization, policy development, research and M&E in the areas of sustainable development, energy, environment and poverty alleviation. Currently, Mr. Kirari works for UNDP Indonesia as the Renewable Energy Specialist supporting Market Transformation in the Energy Sector (MTRE3); Partnership for Market Readiness and Advancing Indonesia’s Lighting Market to Highly Efficient Technologies (ADLIGHT). Through these projects and others in the pipeline, he has contributed to expanding UNDP Indonesia’s climate change projects portfolio. Prior to joining UNDP, Mr. Kirari worked for UN-Habitat and a leading energy sector think tank – African Energy Policy Research Network – providing energy policy development support to African Governments, major international, regional and bilateral institutions as well as collaborating with other organizations in Asia and Latin America in power sector reform, renewable energy, energy efficiency, rural electrification and energy policy development.
